One in 36 will die of this disease. Prostate cancer is a formidable opponent.
Second only to skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer among men in the U.S. In 2011, the most recent year on record, over 200,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and 27,970 men died from it. The good news is that most men survive and are even cured of their prostate cancer.
Diagnostic Imaging Services is proud to again be a major sponsor of the NOLA Blue Walk/Run/Party to benefit the prostate cancer research fund at Tulane Cancer Center. The inaugural event in 2014 drew thousands of participants to the Tulane Campus to celebrate life and to show their support for research and for those affected by this disease. This year, an even larger crowd is expected, as recognition of the importance of men’s health continues to increase across the country and globe.
Join DIS on Saturday, September 21 at Tulane University and show your support for the work done by the university’s cancer center. For more information on the event, visit www.nolabluedoorun.org.
