As with many events in the unusual year of 2020, this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer will be a virtual event. Yet, with that development, Diagnostic Imaging Services pledges its continued support of the American Cancer Society in its efforts at stamping out not only breast cancer, but all cancer.
We fully support the work toward less cancer and celebrating more birthdays!
What is Making Strides?
The American Cancer Society (ACS) started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against this deadly disease. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation – and we do more than just walk.
Monies raised help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline. But we can’t do any of this without the help of people like you.
How is the Making Strides movement different from other breast cancer walks? According to the ACS, funds are for more than just research. Help is given to breast cancer patients, survivors, thrivers and caregivers through every step of their experience – whether that means giving a patient a ride to treatment, helping a survivor look good so they feel better, or being available to answer a caregiver’s question at 2:00 a.m.

It’s starts with a wish. It can end with a cure.
