Military Appreciation Month 2
All of us at Diagnostic Imaging Services support our men and women, past and present, who have defended our freedom and our liberty by putting their lives on the line in order to keep our country free and strong. Not only should support happen for them, but also for their families and loved ones, who often experience long periods without these men and women at their sides.

Children without either Mom or Dad. Wives without their husbands. Husbands without their wives. Parents without their child.

May is National Military Appreciation Month. National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM) is celebrated every May and is a declaration that encourages U.S. citizens to observe the month in a symbol of unity, to honor the current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including those who have died in the pursuit of freedom.  The month of May is characterized by six national observances highlighting the contributions of each:

May 1, 2016: Loyalty Day
May1-7, 2016: Public Service Recognition Week
May 6, 2016: Military Spouse Appreciation Day
May 8, 2016: Victory in Europe Day (V-E or VE Day)
May 21, 2016: Armed Forces Day
May 30, 2016: Memorial Day

operation-homefrontTo honor National Military Appreciation Month, Diagnostic Imaging Services will be making a donation for each Computed Tomography (CT) scan we perform in May to the Louisiana/Mississippi chapter of Operation Homefront. Every day, across America, the Operation Homefront family consisting of dedicated employees, passionate volunteers and caring corporate and individual donors,  and partner organizations provides valued programs designed to build strong, stable, and secure military families as they seek to honor their patriotism and service to our country.

Operation Homefront’s vision is to be the provider of choice for short-term and critical assistance, long-term stability and recurring support programs to military families.

In addition, we encourage patients visiting our locations to provide to us a photo of their military loved one. We would be very happy to display their picture on our Wall of Honor boards that will be displayed in our Metairie, Marrero, Covington and Slidell facilities.

For each photo that is provided to us, we will also make a contribution to Operation Homefront Louisiana/Mississippi.

Join us in recognizing May as National Military Appreciation Month. If you receive a recommendation for a CT scan from your medical provider, choose DIS to not only get excellent care, but also to do a small part in helping men and women in uniform, and their families.

Thank you.
