The DIS “Inside Addition” 3D/4D fetal ultrasound program is offered at our Metairie and Marrero locations. The 3D/4D scan is not part of the routine antenatal care and should only be considered a non-diagnostic elective scan.
The procedure, which requires payment at time of service, allows expectant parents to experience a new way of bonding with their unborn child.
Because this is an elective, non-diagnostic ultrasound, you do not need to have a referral order from a medical provider.
The world of 3D/4D scans allows expecting parents to experience a new way of bonding with their unborn child. We tailor our appointments to give the families a lasting impression. The session includes 20 minutes of quality time while viewing the baby’s movement. The technologist will enhance the visit with detailed descriptions of what can be seen on the screen.
Scans performed between 27-28 weeks offer the best opportunity for the baby to be in a good position with enough amniotic fluid which contributes to optimal imaging. In the case of a twin pregnancy, 25 weeks is a suitable time to perform the scan. Waiting longer may limit optimal imaging due to position and fluid. As the babies grow, it becomes difficult to get good positioning or viewing windows in the womb.
The “Inside Addition” package includes:
- 20 minutes of scan time
- CD with printable images
- DVD – Actual real time motion picture of the baby
- Four snapshots
